Sophia Li

 Sophia Li was named Head Coach of the TMU Bold Golf team in June of 2026.

A PGA of Canada Class "A" Professional, Li brings extensive coaching, leadership, and athlete development experience to the program. Prior to her appointment as Head Coach, she served as an Assistant Coach with the TMU Bold Golf Team, supporting student-athletes in player development, competition preparation, and performance planning.

Li is the Founder and Head Coach of So Golf Academy, where she has helped develop thousands of golfers ranging from beginners to competitive junior athletes. Since establishing the academy in 2018, she has grown the organization into a multi-coach program recognized for its commitment to player development and coaching excellence. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes individualized development, recognizing that every athlete possesses unique strengths, learning styles, and performance goals.

She holds advanced coaching credentials, including TPI Level 3 certification and the PGA of Canada Golf Operations Specialization. Li was also selected to participate in the Golf Canada and PGA of Canada "Women in Coaching" Program, an initiative designed to support and advance high-performance women coaches across Canada. Her athlete-centred approach combines technical instruction, performance technology, fitness, and mental skills training to support long-term development.

Beyond coaching, Li is actively involved in advancing the game of golf across Canada. She serves as President of the Canada International Golf Association (CIGA) and is a member of the PGA of Ontario Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Group. In recognition of her contributions to coaching and player development, she received the PGA of Ontario Junior Leader of the Year Award and Professional Development Award in 2024. Li was also ranked first overall in the PGA of Ontario Professional Recognition Program in 2025.
