Biography
2019-20: Played 27 games in the final season of his legendary Rams career… Recorded 14 goals along with 22 assists for a 36 point regular-season tally (tied for fifth highest in the OUA)... With 14 goals and 36 total points, became the all-time program leader in points and goals with 144 and 58 respectively… The record for career goals had not been broken since Paul Kosiancic’s career in 1985-89… Also becomes the second-highest assist leader in program history with 86... Scored two game-winning goals this season, including one in a crucial 3-2 win over Waterloo in the final stretch of the season… Had 10 multi-point games, most notably a six-point performance (one goal and five assists) in a 6-5 win over Guelph on November 21, 2019… Served 32 penalty minutes in the regular season… Played all five OUA postseason games… Tallied four total points including two assists in a Game 1 win of the West Division Semifinal…Awarded as an OUA West Second-Team All-Star… Named Ryerson’s male Athlete of the Week on November 25, 2019… Named one of Ryerson’s Stars of the Week on three occasions; November 3 and 24, 2019, and January 26, 2020.
2018-19: A record-breaking season for Ryerson’s Male Athlete of the Year… Named OUA West Most Valuable Player and a U SPORTS First-Team All-Star for the first time in his career…. Played all 28 regular season games and finished the year with a career-best 20 goals… His 50 points ranked number one in U SPORTS and his 30 assists were tied for second-best in the country… Played only five games without recording at least one point this year and went on a ten-game point streak to open up the year…. Had 18 multi-point games and scored four points in a single game on three different occasions… Added 3 game winners and seven on the power play… Totaled 34 penalty minutes in the regular season… Played all five playoff games, scoring a team-high six goals and one assist… Scored two overtime winners in the playoffs… Broke Ryerson’s program record for single-season points (50) and single-season assists (30)... Sits fifth in all-time scoring with 108 points just three years into his Rams career… Named an OUA First-Team All-Star for the second year in a row… Also named men’s hockey’s 2018-19 team MVP… One of Ryerson’s Stars of the Week on October 23, 2018, and January 28, 2019… Ryerson’s Male Athlete of the Week on October 9, 2018.
2017-18: The OUA First-Team All-Star and U SPORTS Second-Team All-Star was limited to just 18 games due to injury… Finished tied for seventh in OUA scoring with 14 goals and 19 assists (33 points) on the year… The only player within the OUA’s top 30 scorers to have played less than 20 games… Scored at least one point in 16 games and recorded two or more points in 12 … Had two back-to-back four point games (one goal, three assists) on November 10, 2017, and on November 12, 2017… Had one goal and two assists in a 7-1 win over Laurier on January 5, 2018… Scored the overtime winner against Waterloo in a 3-2 victory on November 3, 2017… Named Ryerson’s Athlete of the Week on November 6, 2017.
2016-17: Named to the OUA All-Rookie Team after finishing tied for third in team scoring with 10 goals and 15 assists in 22 games... Was second on the team with four power play goals... Recorded eight multiple point games and recorded his first career U SPORTS hat trick in a 9-1 win over Windsor on January 21, 2017... Had six goals and six assists in a seven-game point scoring streak from January 12 to February 2... Added six points (three goals, three assists) in six playoff games... Attended the Boston Bruins rookie camp in September of 2016.
Before Ryerson: Played 273 career games in the OHL with Plymouth, Oshawa and Sarnia, recording 125 goals and 99 assists... Won a Memorial Cup with Oshawa in 2014-15 and had 13 goals and three assists in 21 playoff games ... Selected to play for Team Cherry in the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in 2014... Finished his OHL career by posting 42 points (25 goals, 17 assists) in 42 games with Sarnia and added six goals and four assists in seven playoff games... Drafted in the sixth round, 180th overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Los Angeles Kings... Attended two training camps with the Kings.
