TORONTO — The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold men's basketball team is excited to welcome guard Joey Kleuskens to its 2025-26 recruiting class.
Hailing from London, Ont., Kleuskens has gained a wide range of experience on the court. He spent six years playing with the Gold Medal Basketball Club in the Ontario Basketball League and two years with the London Basketball Academy.
At Saunders Secondary School, he served as team captain for all four years. During his time there, he earned TVRA All-Star honours twice and led his team to a 2025 TVRA championship, all while maintaining honour roll status throughout high school.
Kleuskens also developed his game with STRIVE Hoops, where he played alongside fellow TMU commit
Imisi Montunde, who also signed with the Bold for the 2025-26 season.
Known for his work ethic and energy, the guard looks forward to making the jump to OUA basketball. His decision to join TMU was influenced by the university's strong reputation in both academics and athletics.
"I am really excited to be in a competitive environment where I can strive to be my best on the court and in the classroom," said Kleuskens.
His family has already made a mark with the Bold—his sister Lindsay Kleuskens was part of the women's volleyball campaign that captured a national championship during the 2017-18 season. Kleuskens looks forward to studying Business Management, ready to embrace the student-athlete lifestyle.
Kleuskens becomes the second recruit in TMU's 2025-26 recruiting class, joining Montunde in what promises to be a new, talented group for the Bold.
