Bold Add Two-Time Canada West All-Star Myriam Kone

TORONTO — The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold women's basketball team has strengthened its backcourt with the addition of Myriam Kone, a standout transfer from the University of Calgary. The Edmonton native arrives at TMU following consecutive Canada West All-Star selections—earning third-team honours in 2023–24 and second-team in 2024–25.

"We couldn't be more excited to add Myriam to the Bold family, "said TMU Head Coach Carly Clarke. "A driven and proven winner, Myriam will bring leadership, experience, playmaking, and so much more to our program. She will make an instant impact both offensively and defensively, and brings a positive and competitive approach to every day that will push both herself and our entire team."

Over three seasons with the Dinos, Kone appeared in 66 games and started at guard in each of the past two years. In 2024–25, she led Calgary in scoring and ranked fifth in Canada West with 16.1 points per game—scoring in double figures in all but one contest. She also finished top 10 in the conference in steals (2.5 per game) and assists (3.4 per game), and was named Canada West Athlete of the Week twice.

"I felt like this was the place where I could truly be myself and enjoy the last two years that I have," Kone said about her decision to join the Bold. "I could tell the girls were hungry and ready for more, and that really resonated with me. I feel like God has big plans for me, and he's always led me back to TMU. I also really enjoyed meeting everyone—from the coaching staff to the players to the trainers. It just felt right, like it could be my next home for the next two years".

Kone brings national championship experience, having competed in two U SPORTS Women's Basketball Final 8 Tournaments with Calgary.
