TORONTO
– Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Athletics & Recreation welcomes BMO as the official banking partner of the TMU Bold as part of a multi-year strategic relationship. This is the first partnership of its kind at TMU, marking a new era of commitment to the competitive excellence for Bold student-athletes and the varsity program.
Both TMU Athletics & Recreation and BMO are dedicated to the development of students and communities, making the partnership a fit for each party. BMO's Purpose, to Boldly Grow the Good
in business and life, aligns with TMU's mission to "champion the development of the whole student through sporting excellence and active wellbeing."
"Sport has the power to inspire a sense of community and shared ambition, which can help empower students to pursue their personal and financial goals," said Sumit Sarkar, Head, Customer Growth, Segments & Value Proposition, BMO. "We are proud to help students make real financial progress as the first banking partner for TMU Bold, and we're excited to support sporting excellence on campus."
This partnership will come to life over the next three seasons, with both fans and student-athletes seeing BMO's support starting this fall including TMU jerseys featuring the BMO logo. BMO will serve as the presenting sponsor of Homecoming 2024, one of the biggest events on the TMU calendar each year. Game day giveaways will be courtesy of BMO, helping create an exceptional atmosphere for both fans and student-athletes alike.
"BMO's support of our student-athletes marks the beginning of an exciting partnership with TMU Athletics & Recreation," said Dr. Louise Cowin, Executive Director, Athletics & Recreation at TMU. "We are deeply grateful to BMO for their support of our TMU Bold student-athletes and look forward to a successful season ahead!"
In addition, BMO will also be the official banking partner for TMU programming on main campus for the International Student Support Office and University's Fall and Winter Orientation weeks. With this new strategic relationship, BMO will support students by providing access to trusted resources, banking capabilities, and financial literacy content to help them establish their financial life during their studies and post-graduation.
With BMO's support, the Bold look forward to kicking off the season officially on August 30 when the women's soccer team opens the 2024-25 varsity season on home turf at Downsview Park.
