The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold men's hockey squad saw their regular season and a five-game winning streak come to a close on Friday, falling to the UQTR Patriotes by a 4-1 score.
Kyle Bollers scored the lonesome goal for the Bold in the second period, using his edges to coast around a Patriotes defender before sliding home his 18th of the season. The third-year forward finished the regular season just three points shy of becoming the sixth player in program history to touch the century mark in points.Â
After opening up Friday's scoring on the powerplay, UQTR added three-unanswered goals in the second and third period to put away the Bold.Â
William Dumoulin finished the evening with a goal and an assist, as did Edouard Cournoyer to help lead the Patriotes to victory.Â
Despite the loss, TMU enter the postseason having played their best hockey as of late, winners in five of their last seven contests. The group continue to await their opening opponent with the OUA playoff picture continuing to sort itself out in the coming days, but will already have a bye into the second round of postseason action.
