Bold score four unanswered to earn eighth road win of the season

GUELPH, Ont. - After falling behind in the game's first two minutes, the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold men's hockey team rallied to score four unanswered goals to defeat Guelph 4-1 on Thursday night. The win adds to the team's 15-8 record with only four remaining games in the 2022-23 regular season.

TMU sought out opportunities at net throughout the first, taking 13 shots, but weren't able to find the equalizer by the end of the period.

Joe Rupoli knotted the game up at one in the second, which was followed by Jacob Kamps five minutes later to put the Bold in the lead.

Guelph struggled to come back against TMU throughout a five-on-three opportunity to open the last period. The Bold, meanwhile, extended their scoring run into the third. Rookie Daniel D'Amico, who scored his first career goal for the blue and gold, and Aleks Dimovski added insurance goals for the Bold with 10 minutes left in the game.

Kai Edmonds stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced in his return to the lineup after his stint with Team Canada at the FISU Games.

The Bold will return home to play the Toronto Varsity Blues this Saturday at the Mattamy Athletic Centre. Puck drop is set for 4:15 p.m.
