TORONTO – The Ryerson Rams men's hockey team continues to add to its recruiting class with the addition of Ryan Wells to the roster for 2020-21.
A native of Mississauga, Ont., Wells comes to the Rams after an excellent 2019-20 season in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) while also touting major junior experience in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
The defenceman spent this past season as the captain of the Caledonia Corvairs, where he led all blue liners with 72 points in 47 games. He scored 23 goals while adding 49 assists and had 23 points on special teams.
Prior to that, Wells spent time with the Mississauga Steelheads of the OHL, where he played in 90 career games over three seasons.
"I chose Ryerson because I felt that this is the best place to begin my future. When you look at the roster, it makes [the] decision easier with the amount of major junior experience the players have, which will help me grow as a player," said Wells. "You hear nothing but great things when it comes to the coaching staff and the academics. I am excited to be joining Ryerson and can't wait for the next four years."
Wells will be studying Criminology at Ryerson starting this fall.
