KINGSTON — The no. 3 Ryerson Rams completed their two-win weekend with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-21) sweep over the RMC Paladins on Saturday night at the SAM Gymnasium in Kingston.
Rookie outside hitter Jasmine Rivest (Montreal, Que.) led the Rams with 12.0 points on the evening, totaling 10 kills and two solo blocks through three sets.
The Rams attacked at an impressively efficient rate throughout the game, opening the match with a dominant 25-13 win and hitting at .565 percent with 14 kills and just one error on 23 attempts.
The Rams would carry their advantage into the second set and continued to dominate. A 25-18 win capped off their efforts and gave the visitors an opportunity to secure their third sweep in just two games, and they did just that.
The third saw a more balanced effort on both sides of the floor, but the Rams ultimately prevailed with a 25-21 win to complete the sweep.
Fifth-year outside hitter Brett Hagarty (Aurora, Ont.) totaled 11 kills and attacked at a season-high .588 percent. Sister duo Kohl Peters (Surrey, B.C.) and Molly Peters (Surrey, B.C.) led the Rams with three and two service aces, respectively. Setter Alli Pauls (Winnipeg, Man.) collected 13 assists in her third career OUA start.
The win against RMC marks the Rams' fifth sweep of the season and their fifth victory in as many games. The team will enjoy a bye week before returning to action on Friday, February 7th against the Nipissing Lakers at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto.
