TORONTO - With an even 2-2-0 record, Ryerson is back on the road this week, taking on the Guelph Gryphons and York Lions.
The Rams will look to build on their towering 7-1 win over Windsor last Friday. Six different skaters lit the lamp, and Star of the Week
Fanny Vigeant (St-Hyacinthe, Que.) stopped 22 in the victory.
Guelph is also coming off a big 4-1 win against the Western Mustangs last week. York is sitting at fourth in the OUA after surging to a 3-1-0 record while on a 3-game win streak. The Rams will rely on the likes of
Mariah Hinds (Toronto) to stay ahead.
Hinds contributed a pair of goals and a helper for three points against Windsor. The defenseman currently leads the Rams with four points in four games.
Amazingly, the Rams' powerplay percentage remains at zero. Despite their seven-goal effort against Windsor, and 12 goals on the season, none have come on the powerplay. Although they dominated last Friday, the powerplay unit went 0-for-4. On the contrary, both of Hinds's goals came while shorthanded. Meanwhile, the lone goal against last Friday was a powerplay marker. Head Coach
Lisa Haley has their work cut out for them for the Rams' special teams.
The Rams visit the defending OUA and U SPORTS champions Guelph on Wednesday, with puck drop at 7:15 p.m. On Saturday, they face York in an afternoon match at 2:15 p.m.
