Bold Announce the Signing of Javier Gilgeous-Glasgow

TORONTO, Ont. – The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold are thrilled to announce the addition of point guard Javier Gilgeous-Glasgow to their roster. After two successful seasons with Howard College in Big Spring, Texas, Gilgeous-Glasgow returns to the Greater Toronto Area, bringing a wealth of experience and talent to the Bold.

A native of Brampton, Ontario and a graduate of United Scholastic Academy, Gilgeous-Glasgow has an impressive basketball resume. He was a participant in the 2022 BioSteel All-Canadian Game and played a pivotal role in securing the 2018 National Championship with the Team Ontario U15 team. His experience also includes a notable stint with Canada Elite in 2017.

Gilgeous-Glasgow's accolades are a testament to his skill and leadership. In 2021, he was named Premier League MVP and earned first-team all-league honors. As team captain at United Scholastic Academy, he led his team to a remarkable 14-2 record and an appearance in the OSBA Final 8 Championships for the 2021-22 season.

During his time at Howard College, Gilgeous-Glasgow appeared in 58 games over two seasons, including 10 starts as a sophomore.

"I chose TMU because I have a great relationship with the coaching staff," said Gilgeous-Glasgow, who will be pursuing a degree in Arts and Contemporary Studies. "They've been coaching me since I was in grade 9 with Team Ontario and Junior Academy."

Beyond the court, Gilgeous-Glasgow has a passion for fashion and looks up to his cousin, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, as his favourite professional athlete.
